Key Technologies from 6G-EDGEDT demonstrated at the 5G Core Summit

On June 9th, during the 5G Core Summit held in Madrid, the Technology and Innovation team from Ericsson Spain, represented by Fernando Beltrán, Álvaro Vlad, Miguel Ángel, and José Luis Jiménez, delivered a live demonstration showcasing the use of Network Digital Twins in private 5G networks. This concept is a central element in both the Predict-6G project, funded by the JU 6G SNS initiative, and the 6G-EDGEDT project, part of the UNICO I+D 6G programme. Both projects are coordinated by Antonio de la Oliva, professor at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
The live demonstration, conducted over a real private 5G network at Ericsson Spain’s headquarters, was aimed at the Mission Critical Networks Account Team in the EMEA market area. The session showcased how enterprise customers can leverage Network Digital Twins to design, deploy, and optimize their 5G use cases more efficiently.
The integrated solution presented in the demo included advanced technologies such as Edge Computing, Network Slicing, Machine Learning, and Network API Exposure, enabling the delivery of customized, high-value services at a competitive cost. This comprehensive approach helps accelerate the digital transformation of SMEs, while reducing the total cost of ownership typically associated with rigid, single-purpose private networks. It also enhances operational efficiency and service delivery agility.
This activity represents a significant milestone in the dissemination strategy of the 6G-EDGEDT project, showcasing the real potential of the technologies under development and their direct applicability in industrial and business environments.
